fundraising technique. But now it seems that some people are quite happy

to do it for nothing.



Take Leagas Delaney. The agency recently designed a poster for the BBC’s

Children in Need appeal. It featured someone bathing in a tub of beans

under the headline: ’Why a bath in a tub of cold baked beans is good for

millions of children.’ To raise some cash for the appeal, the agency

advertised internally for a model to star in the ad.



Step forward one of the agency’s Mac operators, Chris Perifimou, who was

more than happy to spend a Friday afternoon in the tub of freezing

beans. Perifimou said he didn’t mind the cold but was glad he wore

shorts.



’If I’d have been naked, heaven knows where the beans would have ended

up. As it was, I spent half an hour in the shower trying to get them

out.’



While we don’t know how much was made by the agency who collected money

from eager colleagues itching to see Perifimou in the altogether, we do

know that more money was offered to help him retrieve the missing beans.
