CAMPAIGN DIARY: A so-called male strip leaves M&C Saatchi’s staff gasping for less

Everyone loves the hit film, the Full Monty, and staff at M&C Saatchi are no exception. So when senior agency figures threw down the gauntlet and challenged staff to raise money for charity, one idea sprang to mind.

Everyone loves the hit film, the Full Monty, and staff at M&C

Saatchi are no exception. So when senior agency figures threw down the

gauntlet and challenged staff to raise money for charity, one idea

sprang to mind.

The agency was holding a day for Breakthrough, a breast cancer charity.

The target was pounds 3,000 and four Saatchi lads immediately announced

that if the figure was raised they would perform the strip scene from

the Full Monty.

Staff leapt into action, pulling in favours from suppliers, agency staff

and anyone else who could be pinned down.

The target was exceeded and the entire agency assembled in the bar in

eager anticipation, sipping Slippery Nipple cocktails and waiting for

Matt Perry, Merlin Sinclair, Shaun Musgrove and James Tanfield to strut

their stuff.

Sadly, it all proved a bit of a let-down. The lads swaggered down the

staircase to Joe Cocker’s You Can Leave Your Hat On but didn’t go beyond

silk boxers.

However, other people did get suggestive with one woman offering snogs

for a pound (making a measly pounds 12). Five lads dressed as the Spice

Girls, while one woman flashed her bosoms saying ’It’s breast awareness

month. I think you should be aware of mine.’

Then one bloke offered to go the whole hog for pounds 40 and did indeed

drop his Y-fronts when handed the cash. It led to a mass hunt for the

agency’s magnifying glass.
