CAMPAIGN DIARY: How Tim saw red, and made the most of it ..

Here’s a stirring tale of how one radio boss managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Talk Radio fell victim to the World Cup ticket agency scam and was left four tickets short for the Scotland/Brazil game for which it had assembled a party of ten.

Here’s a stirring tale of how one radio boss managed to snatch

victory from the jaws of defeat. Talk Radio fell victim to the World Cup

ticket agency scam and was left four tickets short for the

Scotland/Brazil game for which it had assembled a party of ten.

After managing to acquire one ticket to allow all of Talk’s seven

invited guests to see the match, three members of staff from the radio

station started to make their way to watch the game in a pub.

But, as they walked past a turnstile, the quick-thinking sales director,

Tim Bleakley, spotted the similarity between his red corporate Talk

Radio T-shirt and the official red polo shirts worn by FIFA officials -

all of whom were able to move freely inside and outside the ground.

Without hesitation, Bleakley turned and sauntered through the turnstile,

flashing his Talk Radio identity pass.

He then tucked himself into the queue of celebrities and VIPs and was

duly ushered across a red carpet to watch the game from a front-row

seat.
