Following on from from the Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper ad featuring
Monica Lewinsky (Diary, 14 August) is this offering from Israel.
According to the Guardian, a Tel Aviv agency has created a TV spot for a
soap-powder company which shows secret agents trying to pervert the
course of justice.
The ad shows two agents arriving at Monica Lewinsky’s house. They sneak
in to retrieve the infamous cocktail dress currently being touted as
proof that she had an affair with Bill Clinton.
After finding a white cocktail dress and using the detergent, the agents
radio base and proclaim the dress ’whiter than white’ - to which a voice
replies, ’What do you mean white? You were meant to take the blue
dress.’ The Tel Aviv equivalent of the ASA passed the ad - as long as a
picture of President Clinton was removed. Spoil-sports
