Sonic Advertising, which specialises in online music marketing, has launched an SMS text messaging initiative for MTV. The campaign will support the launch of MTV's new show Video Clash, which allows users to contact the show to vote for their favourite tracks via text messages. In order to maximise effectiveness, Sonic Advertising has planned a campaign allowing MTV to target 150,000 16- to 24-year-olds who have recently downloaded ringtones specifically in the pop and dance genres from its client yourmobile.com.
