CAMPAIGN-I: News in brief

The proportion of female users of the internet has risen by 6 per

cent over the past year, to 45 per cent, according to research released

from Which? But e-mail use is losing popularity with the number naming

e-mail as their favourite form of communication falling from 14 per cent

to 5 per cent. The survey shows that 36 per cent of British people now

use the internet and as many as eight million people have shopped

online.
