Founded in 1965, Gruner & Jahr is the magazine subsidiary of
Bertelsmann media group.
In 1978, G&J became the first German publishing company to launch in the
international magazine market by taking over the Spanish publishing
house, Cosmos Distribuidora S.A., and acquiring Parenta Magazine
Enterprises Inc in the US.
