Campaign Viral Chart: Taylor Swift falling off treadmill goes viral for Apple

Apple Music's ad featuring Taylor Swift - in which the singer dramatically drops to the floor while running on a treadmill - was by far the most shared ad this week.

1. Apple "Taylor vs  Treadmill" by Apple

Perhaps unsurprisingly this ad raced to the top of the Viral Chart this week with 710,061 shares. It has all the ingredients for social media popularity: a globally popular brand, a globally recognised pop star, and a moment of comedy magic when poor Taylor is so distracted by rapping along to a Drake track that she drops to the floor off the treadmill. It's most probably a stunt double, but let's not nitpick.

2. LG Electronics "LG G5: Jason Statham Commercial" by Energy BBDO

If it wasn't for Taylor Swift, this ad would almost certainly have topped the chart, with 154,251 shares over the past seven days. This fun spot sees the Transporter star play every single character, ranging from a baby (and not a cute one) to a bank robber.

3. Apple "iPhone 6S - Timer" by TBWA/Media Arts Lab

Cookie Monster using Siri remains an internet favourite and was top of the Viral Chart for two weeks running before today. This week it was shared 142,318 times.

4. Google "Google Cardboard Plastic" by Google

How amazing does this sound: a headset which combines everything you love about virtual reality with actual reality. In other words, a virtually useless piece of plastic – April Fool! This self-referential spoof by Google was shared 46,413 times.

5. Tesco Lotus "What wil four-year-old children make next?" by Leo Burnett Thailand

Kids act cute and promote a Snoopy promotion for Tesco in Thailand. This was shared 40,704 times.

6. Sony "Sony develops the world's first ghost-catching device - The Proton Pack"

It's another April Fools' Day prank – this time by Sony who have unveiled a "proton pack", the ghost-catching kit used by Bil Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the classic 1984 movie Ghostbusters. Sony has made a reboot of the movie, using an all-female cast, which is due to be released later this year. It was shared 30,817 times over the past seven days.

7. YouTube Spotlight "Experience YouTube in #SnoopaVision" by YouTube

Another April 1 prank: YouTube introduces a new option to "watch all videos in 360 [degrees]" with Snoop Dogg, the veteran rapper. It's never quite clear what Snoopavision actually is, but watching Snoop acting as a technical consultant is quite amusing: "I coded the hell out of this software to get me up in there!" This ad was shared 30,199 times.

8. Heavy Bubbles "HeavyBubbles™ TV Commercial" by Allenby Concept House

If you're a Game of Thrones fan, you probably twigged very quickly that this is another April Fools' prank. Sodastream employed Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (who plays Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane in the fantasy drama) to front a fake TV ad for Heavy Bubbles – "the drink that makes you sweat". It was shared 28,239 times.

9. Apple "Dillan's Voice" by TBWA\Media Arts Lab

For Autism Acceptance Month, Apple features a teenager named Dillan and shows how he uses Apple products to express his thoughts. This ad was shared 28,239 times over the past week.

10. Red Bull "Drifting a Ferrari F40 in Snow Up To Base Camp (4k!)" by Red Bull

A specially modified Ferrari F40 charges up the snowy slopes, sliding sideways all the way to base camp. This ad was shared 25,816 times.
