Capital swipes staff from agencies for client sales team

Capital Radio Advertising is raiding London’s media agencies to find managers for its client sales division.

Capital Radio Advertising is raiding London’s media agencies to

find managers for its client sales division.



Matt Otley joins from Carat, where he was a media planner on the

agency’s specialist car accounts, including Saab. As client sales

manager, Otley will sell radio to car manufacturers.



Tom Sherwood joins Capital from Zenith. Previously a media planner on

the Rover account, Sherwood has been briefed to pull more financial

advertisers into radio.



The third new recruit is Mark Newns, a former agency account manager at

Atlantic 252. Newns will target dotcom start-ups.



Fiona Dixon, head of the client development sales team, said she will

continue to poach staff from agencies.



’It’s fundamental that we understand how media plans are put together.

Our strategy is focused on selling radio in conjunction with other

media. Media planners understand the full media mix.’
