Carat acquires high tech US agency

Freeman Associates, which is based in Newton Massachusetts, can name AOL, Dow Jones Interactive Publishing Group, Platinum Technology, Seagate Software Gartner Group and Sybase among its client base and in October was included on the Inc 500 list of fast-growing companies.

The agency currently employs 40 staff and will remain as a standalone unit within Carat North America.

Ellen Freeman, founder of Freeman Associates, said: "The global reach and clout that Carat provides will allow us to offer a wider range of solutions to existing and new clients."

Freeman will continue as CEO of Freeman Associates and will join the Carat North America executive board.

The latest purchase pushes Carat North America's billings over the $1billion mark. Carat's other US holdings are the media specialist companies Carat ICG and Carat MBS, as well as MMA-Carat, a research firm.
