Carat has emerged triumphant in a pan-European pitch for the

dollars 20 million media planning and buying business for the fabric

manufacturer, Gore-Tex, after a three-way pitch.

Carat pitched against Optimedia and MediaVest for the business, and was

told this week it had been handed the account in a number of key

European markets.

TMD Carat, whose pitch was co-ordinated by its managing director, Mark

Craze, will handle the Gore-Tex media business in the UK, while its

sister Carat offices will handle the task in Germany, Austria,

Switzerland, France, Italy and Scandinavia.

TMD’s first task for the company will be to plan and buy a pounds 2

million UK campaign breaking this autumn to raise the profile of the

Gore-Tex name around Europe.

At the same time, Carat International’s London office has been appointed

to handle media planning and buying for the US software company,

Compuware.

Carat International will work on Compuware’s first international ad

campaign, which spans broadcast, print and specialist press activity

across Europe, Asia Pacific and Australia.

Creative work for the campaign is being produced by Compuware’s US ad

agency, Arian, Lowe & Travis.
