Carrie Barker lands magazine sales job at Emap Advertising

Emap Advertising has appointed Carrie Barker as magazine sales director. Barker replaces Theresa Coligan who left Emap to pursue other interests last December.

Barker is currently the managing director of Emap Esprit, which publishes titles including Yours and Mother & Baby.

Her role at Emap Advertising involves overseeing sales for Emap's 30 magazine titles and taking charge of a team of 150 people across display, inserts, creative solutions and classified.

Barker joins Emap Advertising in April and will report directly to Dave King, its managing director. She has been with Emap since 1992 when she took the role of publisher of Mother & Baby and Parents.

King said: "Carrie is a leader and has great commercial experience because she's a managing director. She has tremendous publishing experience."

Barker said: "I am looking forward to making Emap Advertising's magazine sales team the envy of the industry, through excellent servicing and an outstanding creative approach."
