Celador International, the sister company of Who Wants to be a Millionaire maker Celador Productions, has promoted former News International head of digital Ellis Watson as managing director.

Watson, previously head of new media development at Celador, will be responsible for international television format sales, licensing and marketing for all Celador's productions and oversee global digital strategies for Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Watson joined the company in August last year, after 12 years at News International. He said: "Managing the success of the world's largest television brand in history is challenging enough, but with the talent which exists within Celador, I look forward to creating the successes of tomorrow."

Celador's former head of marketing, Adrian Wolfe, has been promoted as commercial and marketing director.

Chairman Paul Smith said: "This is a very exciting time, with so many opportunities for expansion and development open to us. I am confident that we will flourish under the guidance of Ellis and his team."
