Channel 4 appoints commercial head for interactive arm

LONDON - Channel 4 has recruited Andy Taylor to be commercial head of its 4Interactive division.

Taylor joins from Victoria Real, the interactive division of Endemol, where he was managing director.

He will report to Anmar Kawash, the head of 4Services and deputy commercial director of Channel 4. Taylor joins the station in June.

Kawash said: "Andy will play a pivotal role in recognising and developing commercial opportunities that could work across the channel properties and expand the businesses within the 4Ventures portfolio. His previous experience as managing director of Victoria Real will be invaluable to help maximise the potential of these businesses and return core value to the channel."

Last month, 4Ventures posted reduced losses and Channel 4 is confident that the division will break even by 2004.
