The marketing partnership will apply to all marketing communications for Chic, ZnO, HIS and other brands, including consumer and trade advertising, sponsorship, sales promotions, design for new products, exhibits and events and media planning.

SpikeDDB is a joint venture between Omnicom Group ad agency, DBB Needham Worldwide, and the director, Spike Lee, whose films include "Do the Right Thing" and "Mo' Better Blues". Based in New York, it claims billings of $35 million.

Spike Lee said: "Chic is one of the original denim brands that needs to reconnect with its consumers moving into the millennium. What's great about the team at Chic is they identified the need to make changes to meet consumer demand, long before they got into any kind of trouble at the register."
