Chris Hayward quits TSMS to join Zenith in TV director role

house TSMS.

Hayward, who resigned from his job as account director on Wednesday,

will join the agency as a director in its TV buying unit. A start date

has yet to be decided.

Hayward’s move is a return to the agency side of the business. He joined

United News and Media-owned TSMS in November 1998 from Saatchi &

Saatchi, where he was deputy media director working on the Procter &

Gamble account.

Before joining Saatchis, Hayward was group media director at Universal

McCann and ran the pounds 45 million Nestle business for eight years. It

is not known which accounts he will handle at Zenith.

Zenith’s chief executive Graham Duff said: ’If we are to continue to

define, or rather redefine, excellence in TV buying, then we have to

bring in the best staff.

’As far as I’m concerned, we had a shortlist of one for this job. I have

the highest regard for Chris - he has a terrific TV negotiation pedigree

and he’s ludicrously bright, even if he is an Everton fan.’

Zenith is one of the UK’s largest media agencies and has offices in 25

countries across Europe. Its UK clients include Mars, Rover and BT.
