- ClickMango.com, the natural health site set to launch early next year, has secured seed round funding of £3 million in eight days.
The lightning speed that finance was secured at shows that despite recent concerns about the value of internet stocks money is readily available for UK internet start-ups.
After approaching a number of venture capital firms, founders Robert Norton and Toby Rowland, went with Atlas Venture as lead investors. Additional funds have been secured from the Rothschild family.
Rob Zegelaar, a spokesman for Atlas Venture, said: "The strength of the ClickMango proposition is in the experience of the founders and their understanding of consumer purchasing behaviour on the internet."
According to Norton, "We recognise that this level of funding is strategic in that it will help us to position the brand prominently to our target audience both on and off-line from the moment we start to trade."
ClickMango will work closely with the natural health community, involving well-known personalities and doctors to drive traffic.
