Re-meet by chance an ex-two-time client and arrange to get reacquainted.
12.30pm Top man prospect presentation, covering agency deals, volume and cost spreads, cross channel price elasticities and media environment. Goes well and he wants a repeat to his team.
1.30pm First Christmas card-signing session. Nissan US calls to confirm New York December dinner.
2.30pm Meet Richard Silman of Ipsos to work through an opportunity for a joint client research project. We agree positive action for next two weeks.
3.30pm Billetts marketing sciences board meeting. Its chief executive, David Bridges, shows income accelerating and positive customer feedback. We agree new marketing initiatives.
5.15pm Call our US partner SQAD and resolve database queries. Make two customer calls re: agency reviews of local press and TV.
5.50pm Receive good-news text message from my daughter. SMS has revolutionised communication for the deaf.
7.00pm Enjoy the Solus Club dinner at the Dorchester with our billetts UK managing director, Tony Squires, and clients Sony Ericsson and Vodafone. Banter with media types and resolve choir musical issues for the Christmas lunch.
