12.01am Tom Korsan, the chief executive of Great Guns US, calls from our LA office. He's just signed a major US talent called the Hughes Brothers. We discuss meeting the guys in Los Angeles next week.

12.57am David Nutter e-mail. My pitch for a TV drama is being taken to pilot script by US studio. I go to bed very excited.

5.32am Just about to make my Emmy acceptance speech but am woken by reality.

6.02am E-mail Tom with thoughts on directors for script for Mercedes.

7.40am Hit the road and tackle London Bridge. Multitask - sing along to CD, loud.

8.10am Camden. Great, team has been in for a while so Gaggia is on and ready to go.

8.30am Overnight e-mails. Could we do a viral? Big brand; no money, though.

8.57am Half-hour catch-up with Justin Cernis, our new managing director. Talk through ideas and holiday rota.

9.30am Finish judging APA top 50.

10.02am Take a call - are we interested in a viral? Major brand, zero money. I look at Justin. We both pull faces.

11.15am Over to Nitro to see Paul Shearer. Discuss final post on Coke spot and talk through other ideas - joy.

1.30pm Back at Camden. Script in. Viral. Massive brand. Financially challenged.

1.57pm Major script in. Big opportunity. Great idea. Smashing agency. Wonderful creative director. All the stars are lining up ... except the preferred director. He's slated for another shoot.

2.15pm Minor depression.

2.16pm E-mail. Viral? Super brand, not super budget.

2.17pm Depression continues.

2.18pm Preferred director calls. Dates can be moved. Spirits lift.

3.16pm Find Tom on his surfboard in LA to talk schedules.

3.25pm Tiger calls ... she's done what?! 3.48pm Lunch. Slice of toast, heavy on the Marmite.

4.00pm Production team catch-up. Scripts, budgets, problems, ideas, life, jokes.

6.30pm Quick drink with a creative team in Soho to discuss their content ideas.

8.15pm Quality time with the two Rs in my life. Delightful.

11.15pm Phone rings. "Tom, hi ..."
