COI invites pitches for Jobcentre Plus

COI has invited agencies to pitch for a brief from the Department for Work and Pensions to support its Jobcentre Plus service.

The brief, which is understood to involve both creative and media strategy for the service, is focused on improving perceptions of Jobcentres among both the public and potential employers.

COI last held a pitch for the business in 2004 that resulted in the appointment of Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw to handle advertising and direct marketing, and Manning Gottlieb OMD to work on media strategy.

The agencies developed ideas to increase awareness of the services offered by Jobcentres and to increase the number of job vacancies offered by employers.

Jobcentre Plus, which was launched in October 2001, claims to offer a more integrated service, and will complete its national roll-out this year. It is increasingly offering services via call centres and online, including a web-based job search.

COI refused to comment.
