Compaq offers dotcom refugees their jobs back

Employees who left computer manufacturer Compaq to join the dotcom world are being offered the chance to return to their old jobs.

LONDON (Brand Republic) - Employees who left computer manufacturer Compaq to join the dotcom world are being offered the chance to return to their old jobs.

Over recent years, Compaq has lost many employees who have been attracted by the opportunity to make a fortune at internet start-ups. As a result, the company has suffered from a shortage of skilled IT workers.

However, the crash in technology shares has seen many paper fortunes wiped out, and Compaq’s CEO Michael Capellas has issued an amnesty to those who defected. It is understood that hundreds of former employees have taken up the offer.
