Advertising in Canary, a new contract title to be produced by Conde

Nast, is to be sold by Julie Craik, the former associate publisher of

Tatler.

The quarterly lifestyle glossy will be distributed to 40,000 people who

work or live in Canary Wharf and companies who are considering

relocating to the complex.

The 84-page first edition, which comes out on 14 March, will carry 16

pages of ads for corporate gifts, premium travel, men’s grooming,

fragrances and other upmarket brands as well as local retailers. Craik

was keen to stress the quality of both the editorial and advertising.

’We intend to use top photographers, models and stylists,’ she said. ’We

only have a colour ratecard and will be selling full pages and

DPSs.’

Craik claimed to have already booked some launch ads for a men’s

fragrance but she has her work cut out to fill the flatplan by her

target deadline.

’We need to get the first issue turned around by the first week of

February,’ she said.

The magazine will carry Conde Nast’s high production values and the

first issue will feature Fienna Guillory, George Clooney’s co-star in

his new movie Three Kings, on the cover.

Conde Nast’s contract publishing arm also produces magazines and

catalogues for Harrods, House of Fraser, Veuve Cliquot and Asprey &

Garrard.

Nicholas Coleridge, managing director, said: ’There is a great variety

of world-class international companies and shops based at Canary Wharf

and we intend to produce a magazine of the highest quality and

relevance.’
