Coty calls review of £180 million global media account

LONDON - Coty, the international cosmetics company, has called a review of its £180 million global media planning and buying business.

The move marks the first time that the company, which owns brands including Calvin Klein, Rimmel and Cerruti, has consolidated its media business on a global scale.

Currently, Coty works with agencies on a market-by-market basis. In the UK, the incumbent on the business is OMD, after the agency retained the account in March following a pitch.

Before the announcement of a global review, Coty was in the process of conducting a series of local market reviews.

In June, the company called a pitch for its £70 million US media planning and buying account. It is also reviewing the local account in France, the country in which the company was founded.
