Chalkley, who becomes the creative director at Engine, will oversee the accounts for HM Revenue & Customs, the Department for Work & Pensions, the Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force.
He will work closely with Engine’s advertising agency, WCRS, which works across all of the group’s government accounts, and the digital and direct business, Partners Andrews Aldridge, which looks after the Army.
Creative directors from Engine’s individual agencies previously handled the work on a project-by-project basis. Paul Snoxell, the Partners Andrews Aldridge creative director, headed the recently created Army work.
Before Engine, Chalkley spent nine years as a creative director at RKCR/Y&R. He created campaigns for clients including Vodafone, the BBC, Marks & Spencer and Land Rover.
Chalkley began his advertising career in 1997 at St Luke’s, overseeing work for brands including Ikea, BT, Clarks and COI.
