Lowe Howard-Spink has poached the creative duo, Andy Amadeo and

Mick Mahoney, from TBWA/Simons Palmer, the agency they joined just two

months ago.

The pair are best known for the acclaimed Littlewoods Pools ’referee’

and ’Alan Hansen’ commercials, which they created at DMB&B.

At Lowes, Amadeo and Mahoney will work across a range of accounts.

Paul Weinberger, Lowes’ joint chairman and executive creative director,

said: ’They are a talented team with a very refreshing attitude to the

business - all they want to talk about is advertising ideas. That suits

us down to the ground.’

Mahoney commented: ’We had always wanted to go to Lowes. It is the best

’ideas’ advertising agency in London. We feel sorry about leaving Simons

Palmer, but when an opportunity like this comes up you have to take

it.’

Mahoney, 30, and Amadeo, 27, met through a friend while they were both

freelancing, and joined DMB&B three years ago. They previously

freelanced at BDDH and Chiat Day. At DMB&B they created campaigns for

Child Road Safety and the Department of Employment, in addition to

Littlewoods.

During a brief spell at TBWA/Simons Palmer, the pair worked on the

British Heart Foundation account and created a commercial for Goldfish.

They join Lowes in two weeks’ time.
