D&AD AWARDS - New media comes of age with three silvers

The D&AD jury in the interactive media categories proved

surprisingly generous in the competition’s inaugural year, as it awarded

three silvers.

The American-based Duffy Design production company picked up a silver

pencil for the Tidy Cat cat litter site on behalf of its client, Ralston

Purina.

The jury also gave a silver pencil to D&AD’s own Website, conceived by a

team led by Richard Mellor (one of the judges) at Hyperinteractive.

The third silver pencil was awarded in the interactive kiosk

category.

It went to Levi Europe’s in-store kiosk, which was designed by a team

from the Antirom production company.

The category received some 140 entries in this, its first year. The

three silvers were awarded from nine nominations, among what Mellor

described as a standard of entries that proved new media had grown up.
