He will head the group's strategic business unit aimed at ethnic minority media behaviour and will report to Sam Phillips, the OMG UK chief marketing officer, who has been promoted to managing director, OMG Ethnic.

Pandit joins from Sony Pictures, where he headed the global marketing and PR for Sony Entertainment Network's pay-TV channels. Before that, he was the business director at Media Reach Advertising and has held account director roles at Lowe Lintas, McCann Erickson and Ogilvy & Mather in India, Singapore and Dubai.

OMG Ethnic was created by Phillips and launched in 2009 to help Omnicom's clients target consumers from various ethnic backgrounds. Phillips said: "Research shows that different ethnicities have dual media identities and clients need to understand this to maximise their growth."
