Dennis Publishing’s computer arm has bolstered its senior sales

force by promoting ad director Emilie Graham to head its newly formed

centralised classified team.

Graham, 30, will continue to front display and classified sales for the

publishing division’s flagship titles Computer Shopper and Computer

Buyer, but will relinquish the day-to-day running of the magazines’

sales teams in order to take on the extra responsibility.

The director, who joined Computer Shopper as ad manager in 1998, will

sit above Emma Regester, who was poached from Newsquest to manage the

centralised classified unit in autumn last year (Media Business, 25

October).

Graham will take charge of training for the computer division sales army

of 32, look after big-spending clients and concentrate on sales strategy

for both display and classified.

Dennis Publishing is also considering consolidating display sales for

its games titles Dreamcast and PC Zone as well as the business magazines

PC Pro and MacUser. The company is searching internally for an ad

manager to take on the new role.

Computer Shopper, which is monthly, has 11 pages of classified ads,

while fortnightly MacUser carries 25 ad pages.

Mike Shepherd, assistant ad manager of Computer Shopper, will take on

daily responsibilities on Computer Shopper and Computer Buyer.
