DIARY: Bob’s period piece on the Girlie Show was a cringe-making affair

Talking of tottie, what was Robert Campbell doing on the addictively dire Girlie Show last Friday? Set up as the idiot male creative who wrote sanpro ads and didn’t know what he was talking about, Robbie ended up being voted top tottie by the baying audience.

Talking of tottie, what was Robert Campbell doing on the addictively

dire Girlie Show last Friday? Set up as the idiot male creative who

wrote sanpro ads and didn’t know what he was talking about, Robbie ended

up being voted top tottie by the baying audience.

No doubt they couldn’t get the person responsible for ‘now, with wings’

or ‘whoa, Bodyform!’ to appear, so Robbie, creator of the admirably

restrained Lil-lets commercials, was forced to defend other people’s

crappy ads.

But we blushed with embarrassment at his one-liners in aid of new types

of sanpro product unearthed by the show. ‘My cup runneth over’ was bad

enough, but ‘if you’re on the rag, and you fancy a shag’ - please.

That’s not the sort of thing we expect of graduates from the David

Abbott academy.
