Diary: Butlins goes crackers

It's best known for championing knobbly knees and glamorous grannies, so agencies pitching for the Butlins advertising account can't have been expecting the process to be that slick.

But chemistry meetings last week revealed that the holiday camp is firmly sticking to its unashamedly naff roots. To agency folks' horror, Butlins asked them to convey its entire marketing strategy via the medium of a biscuit. Yes, that's right - a biscuit.

We can only hope this doesn't start a trend, as it makes the thought of hobnobbing with clients seem much less appealing.
