The Diary was positively shocked by some of the debauched behaviour at
last week’s Press Awards at the Grosvenor House.
Not half as shocked as one of the waiters was though, when, in the wee
small clearing-up hours, he whisked a tablecloth off a table to find a
couple doing ‘it’ (yep, the whole way) underneath. We’ve heard the
‘looking for an earring’ excuse one too many times.
Actually, about two hours before, when another couple were caught mid-
lap-snog on the balcony. We don’t know why she expected to find his
earring down there, though.
We’d like to share a new expression we learned: ‘Taking in the washing’
- apparently, this refers to the process whereby a pair of knickers
(let’s say red knickers, just for the sake of argument), ends up,
through a bit of rough and tumble, becoming a red g-string.
