DIARY: A dog needs help with difficult life decisions

We're all aware that dog owners often bear an uncanny resemblance to their pets. But while it's one thing for some people to look like their dogs, it's rather unusual for the similarity to not stop there.

Still, this is the Noughties. Meet Alison Chadwick, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO's petite and self-effacing head of personal development and coaching.

True, she doesn't have the most usual of agency jobs, but while some more cynical adlanders might be scratching their heads and wondering precisely what such a role fulfils, it obviously hasn't done AMV any harm.

Chadwick is clearly a convert to the idea anyway, as having recently bought a dog, we hear that she's made an interesting decision and taken the plunge. Yes, it's official - the world has gone totally mad; she's hired a life-management coach for her pooch.

Canine disciplinarian Barbara Woodhouse must be turning in her grave.
