DIARY: Dressed to thrill, Jeff Ford and father show folks who's the Daddy

Relatives were the accessories in vogue at the recent Campaign

Screen/D&AD New Director nominees party, at which the Daddy duo turned

up in dapper black suits and white open-necked shirts. Although not the

most popular of the judges' choices, they were nevertheless a hit with

the laydeez.

Jeff Ford, whose chewy antipodean accent and gawky mannerisms must

surely invite a lawsuit from Mike Myers' Austin Powers character, pulled

off a post-modern coup by bringing his own daddy. The latter gentleman,

unfeasibly sprightly and tanned, and wearing the same monochrome

ensemble, proved just as game as his offspring in the flirting

stakes.

Jake Knowles, meanwhile, raised his left eyebrow James Bond-style, a

manoeuvre which, by his own admission, has frequently got him into

trouble.

Continuing the evening at Momo's with sultry dance routines, the Daddy

duo (and proud parent) certainly showed the more shy and retiring new

breed of directorial talent exactly how it should be done.

So better lock up your daughters - and their mothers - when they're

around.
