What with the ever-increasing competition in the TV marketplace and the imminent arrival of the UK’s fifth terrestrial channel, etc, Channel 4 is getting all aggressive.

What with the ever-increasing competition in the TV marketplace and the

imminent arrival of the UK’s fifth terrestrial channel, etc, Channel 4

is getting all aggressive.

The station is attempting to beat off any criticism from adfolk of its

autumn schedule. It is challenging executives to assess its programming

output from the inside - by appearing in its forthcoming live game show

series, Wanted.

Wanted is a sort of cross between the Fugitive and Treasure Hunt. It

involves sending off teams of fugitives, who are then chased down by

three trackers - a journalist, a police chief and Oleg Gordievsky, the

former KGB spy.

So, if you are interested, or if you fancy getting rid of a pair of

colleagues for up to eight weeks, call Channel 4 by 17 September on this

special number: 0171-306 8714.

You may have to buy a spot or two, but surely that’s a small price to

pay (I thought they were expensive - Ed).
