Diary: Film unites Facebook

While the portrait of its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, in The Social Network is not entirely positive, it seems Facebook has embraced the movie, up to a point.

Diary hears that Facebook organised a trip to see the film near its Palo Alto base and that Stephen Haines, Facebook's UK sales director, convened a similar jolly to the West End for staff last week.

Facebook staff are well drilled on what to say if asked about the film. One agency tells us: "It's like they've got a cribsheet of the phrases. 'It's entertainment, not reality' is their favourite."
