DIARY: Hold the front page - it’s Saint’s club night

Campaign has attracted many imitators over the years and the latest came to our attention one evening last week.

Campaign has attracted many imitators over the years and the latest

came to our attention one evening last week.

The promoters of a new monthly club night at London’s Saint bar must be

under the impression we Campaigners live very reclusive lives if they

thought we wouldn’t come across their flyers.

They advertise ’Champaign - a night run by ad people for ad people’

which takes place on the second Tuesday of every month, and the design

of the flyers owes a great deal to this esteemed rag’s famous front

page. The promoters even pay homage to two of our reporters by

attributing ’stories’ to Emma Hallick and Pippa Constantine (in reality,

Emma Hall and Pippa Considine).

Promoters beware - our lawyers are watching and we’ll be dropping by at

the next Champaign to see if it really is the ’hip, fashionable midweek

hangout’ it purports to be.
