Perseverance paid off when Tracy Josephs, now sales manager at Bag

Media, fought off a bout of the flu and simultaneously secured a nifty

little deal with Fidelity Investments.

Josephs was senior sales executive at Taxi Media and had been involved

in lengthy negotiations with Peter Thompson, her client at Fidelity.

’It’s probably my most memorable deal,’ says Josephs ’because it took a

long time to set up and finally came through when I was off sick.’

Thompson rang Josephs’ office and, when told she was at home reclining

on her sick bed, advised a colleague to pass on a message.

’The office called me at home and, although I was feeling ill, I quickly

got on the phone to Peter and made sure he didn’t book with anyone

else,’ she admits.

The promotion to launch Fidelity’s ISAs involved branding the livery of

taxis with the words ’Have an ISA day’, and offering free rides from

Waterloo and a number of other stations.

Josephs says: ’As soon as I had recovered, I met Peter and finalised the

deal. I’m proud of it because it shows what you can do if you’re really

determined.’
