Diary: To Legoland via adland

One of the most appealing things about the advertising industry is the encouragement that agencies give their employees to get their creative juices flowing outside of their regular day-to-day work.

And as a good example, how about this as a success story? Partners Andrews Aldridge's Lisa Taylor has long been creating jewellery made out of Lego, purely as a hobby. But spotting that Taylor was on to something big, Engine pledged to throw its weight behind her and see if it could help her turn her hobby into something more. The agency clubbed together to help build a website, model the jewellery (Robin Wight, in particular, seemed particularly keen) and tap up external contacts. And we're pleased to report that the hard work has paid off - the "bylisataylor" range is now being stocked exclusively by Selfridges.
