DIARY: News in brief

There's nothing like using and abusing your position for a bit of

blatant self-promotion. So when Dan Hart, a sales executive at More

Group who has looked after the giant video screen at Home in Leicester

Square for the past year, decided to go off travelling, he proved to be

a typical media sales blagger by getting someone to snap him and display

the results in glorious technicolour for his adoring (ahem) crowd in the

centre of London.

Desperate Dan's ego was apparently swollen to gargantuan proportions -

well, 67 square metres, to be precise.

Quite what all those bemused tourists thought this outsized joker was

doing grimacing down at them as they went about their business is

anybody's guess.

So, not very self-conscious at all, then. But it is nice to see those

media stereotypes being reinforced all by themselves.
