DIARY: Oh, yah! A Wight knight comes to Tara’s rescue

It seems Peter Souter is not the only posh totty chaser in the ad industry (Diary, 28 April), although this week’s tale tells of behaviour that’s a tad more chivalrous.

It seems Peter Souter is not the only posh totty chaser in the ad

industry (Diary, 28 April), although this week’s tale tells of behaviour

that’s a tad more chivalrous.

Robin Wight, WCRS’s charming chairman, was on hand last week to rescue

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson from rabid photographers outside the Ivy. In her

’Yah!’ column in The Sunday Times’ Style magazine, she pouts: ’It got so

bad that I had to be rescued by a knight in shining armour, Robin White

(sic), who is a very big noise in advertising. He insisted his driver

whisk me away after bundling me through the throng.’

Unfortunately, where she was whisked to remains a mystery. Wight’s not

telling. But we’re sure he will be grateful of her pledge to return the

favour at some point, just in case the lease on his company BMW ever

runs out.
