Diary: On the QT ..

Russ Lidstone was treated to an A-list lunch-guest last week when he had a brush with the hip-hop star Jay-Z.

After rolling up outside Roka in a blacked-out stretch limo, the rapper took a seat next to the starstruck Euro RSCG chief strategy officer. Unfortunately for Lidstone, Jay-Z's girlfriend (now said to be his wife) Beyonce was absent, as he was just dining with his bodyguards ...

Apparently a number of ad folk are campaigning for a "humanitarian" Cannes Lion. Agencies, jumping on the charity bandwagon? Surely not? The "bearded bride" team will attempt to pilot a giant wedding cake up a four-metre-high ramp and into The Serpentine. To check out their contraption, visit www.beardedbride.com ...

Last week, Diary was given the wrong address for those interested in the Allen Brady & Marsh reunion being organised by Peter Marsh. Alumni should, in fact, e-mail martyn.grover@virgin.net.
