DIARY: Right, back to work - get those diaries out

Agencies will do anything to get their senior staff in the paper, but few have risked the barbed pen of the Diary to the extent of the staff at BMP DDB for this example of rampant self-publicity.

Agencies will do anything to get their senior staff in the paper,

but few have risked the barbed pen of the Diary to the extent of the

staff at BMP DDB for this example of rampant self-publicity.

The joint managing directors Ross Barr and Chris Cowpe and their cronies

tell in a press release how they hired a professional shutterbug to

stalk the corridors and ’take candid shots of us all at work, unposed’,

for charity.

Candid! Unposed! The only candid thing is the admission that it ’was our

chance to prove that we do actually work’. Doubtless some good cause

will welcome the cash, but the biggest charity case with its hand out

here is BMP’s public profile.

We’ve published one shot, but only because the poor loves need reminding

that a managing director and his PA checking their diaries doesn’t count

as hard work. No new-business wins then?
