Talk Radio is staging a competition to find the Raconteur of the Year.
Held over dinner in front of guests in 14 regional heats, it will find,
so it says, the next Bob Monkhouse or Fred Trueman.
Campaign would like to nominate Jeremy Bullmore, now at WPP, but
famously of JWT. Anyone who’s heard him will know why we’d rather listen
to him than Fred bloody Trueman. In fact, we’d rather listen to almost
anyone rather than Fred Trueman, except perhaps Maurice on what the
letters S-A-A-T-C-H-I stand for.
Oh, as the competition is held in association with Daewoo, Michael Finn,
of the Korean giant’s ad agency, is ruled out. Shame. Anyone who’s not
