Diary: Tonge's exhibitionism is page-filler for Campaign

Diary gets all manner of strange requests that don't make it on to these pages, but a recent letter asking for help was just too bizarre to keep to ourselves.

Benjamin Tonge, a commercials director from Manchester, wrote in asking: "Am I the first or only person in the history of your publication to have images of both my bottom and my penis printed in full colour (in separate issues)?"

The most recent view of Tonge was in the 23 June issue of Campaign (page 35 to make it easy for the voyeurs among you). Tonge directed and starred in a viral ad for Friends of the Earth. The story is illustrated with pictures of Tonge's front and back.

His derriere also appeared in the 16 April 2004 edition in an ad for the Creative Juice Awards.

While Diary cannot guarantee if Tonge is the only man who's front and back bottoms have appeared in Campaign, we can confirm that he is the only person to have ever asked the question.

However, if anyone else has beaten Tonge to this claim, Diary would be delighted to set the record straight and help settle his bet. E-mail campaign@haynet.com.
