DIARY: Top Gear - Porsche luggage

We at Top Gear have always found people who wear Ferrari watches and Porsche sunglasses a little sad - as if they can’t afford the actual car, but think they might be able to pull if they’ve got the key ring.

We at Top Gear have always found people who wear Ferrari watches

and Porsche sunglasses a little sad - as if they can’t afford the actual

car, but think they might be able to pull if they’ve got the key

ring.

But we must admit we’ve been won over by the latest range of luggage

from Porsche Design. These travel goods are so cool and slick they will

undoubtedly be stolen the moment your LOT flight from Budapest touches

down in Warsaw (don’t try to deny it, LOT officials - it happened to me

and it still hurts).

Top of the range is the aptly named Roadster - a trolley from another

planet. It’s made of military nylon, has a sleek aluminium handle and

steel wheels, apparently ’modelled on the legendary 911 Porsche’. Only

not as big, obviously.

Then there’s a selection of calf-leather briefcases and the like that

will elicit envious glances from your fellow travellers in the departure

lounge.

And if you actually have a real Porsche motor to sling them in to,

you’re clearly earning too much cash.

Porsche luggage: pounds 50-pounds 1,300

Available from Harrods and selected department stores.
