Diary: Tough brief for Saatchis

The Middle East situation - it's a right mess, isn't it? Thank goodness for Robert Senior, then.

The Saatchi & Saatchi chief has come up with something that could stop the dreadful racket over there once and for all: a swanky party in Cannes. His plan is to get some well-heeled admen and adwomen networking and quaffing loads of Champagne in the swish surroundings of Hotel 3.14 later this month. In between the networking and quaffing, Saatchis will launch a book called The Impossible Brief, a collection of ideas from creatives "to promote constructive dialogue around peace in the Middle East", which apparently could be used to "bring Israel and Palestine closer together". It's all in the best possible taste.
