Ian Darby gives a red card to Golley Slater's ad for Mitsubishi cars: "If you use football for a hook in an ad, it had better be bloody good, given that every man jack is doing it too. Criminally, this spot gets everything wrong. It uses a hackneyed idea (cars playing football) and takes it to preposterous extremes. The music is terrible, the product shots ridiculous and the cheesy crowd shots are a complete joke. Any football fan will hate Mitsubishi for this bandwagon-jumping dross; everyone else will just be confused."
