DIARY: Vauxhall’s hunk and hunkess are used to something more racy

Eagle-eyed TV viewers, and those with a slightly unsavoury private life, may have spotted that the blonde beauty and the hunk in Lowe Howard- Spink’s latest ad for Vauxhall are not the usual fresh-faced, squeaky clean members of the acting community.

Eagle-eyed TV viewers, and those with a slightly unsavoury private life,

may have spotted that the blonde beauty and the hunk in Lowe Howard-

Spink’s latest ad for Vauxhall are not the usual fresh-faced, squeaky

clean members of the acting community.

Oh no. The gorgeous, pouting Debbie Corrigan and the oiled muscleman,

Kym Dalton, are, in fact, porn stars. Far from driving around in

sensible Vauxhalls, Kym likes to thrill his fans by flashing his tackle

in X-rated men’s magazines and steamy movies such as Sexual Massage. He

is also a prominent member, as it were, of the explicit male strip

group, Extreme Force.

Debbie, meanwhile, is a Page 3 regular who has featured in the raunchy

High Society magazine in sizzling man-and-woman shots.

Both, apparently, had to go through a gruelling series of auditions

before landing the plum jobs in the Vauxhall spot, but Kym is keen to

play down his colourful past. ‘I’m planning to move into more mainstream

acting and put that work behind me,’ he says.

How noble of Lowes to help him in his significant career move. Except

that the agency, and indeed Vauxhall, both deny all knowledge of the

duo’s murky histories.

‘We didn’t know anything about it and, as far as we can work out, we

can’t confirm this is true. Anyway, everyone has the right to forget

their pasts. It’s good to give them a chance to make a clean break,’

Jerry Judge, the agency’s broadminded chief executive, says.

1 Why creative people have lost their way

What better way to kick off the inaugural issue of Campaign's monthly print offering than with another think piece on the current failings of our industry, written by an embittered, pretentious creative who misses "the way things used to be"...
