Friday 10.30pm Scandic Triangeln Hotel, Malmo Here we are, eight

media journalists from all over Europe on a freebie trip with the sales

team of Swedish online search tool Planit Media. We’re tired, hungry and

ready for booze - and are therefore delighted to find a welcome parcel

crammed with schnapps, chocolate, salt liquorice and er ... jars of

pickled herring ... mmm.

11pm La Coronne restaurant I join Planit Media’s sales team for a fish

supper with wine, sherry and yet more schnapps, which breaks the ice

very nicely.

9am Saturday Scandic Traingeln Hotel Blimey! Malmo is covered in snow,

so bang goes our helicopter trip.

Planit Media gives us a presentation on its search system and then takes

us on a tour of the city. After that, we jump on a bus and view the 16

kilometre-long bridge which Denmark and Sweden have constructed to link

the two countries.

3pm Hackeberga Transfer to castle in the middle of a lake. Planit Media

organises an archery competition. Then back to the castle for hot milk

with, yep, schnapps. Senior salesman Crister Larsson tinkles the

ivories. We learn the schnapps song.

11pm Paddy’s Bar (yes, even Malmo has an Irish bar) for bottles of

super-strength Carlsberg.

2am Slagthuset (The Slaughter House) We roll up to the Slaughter House

nightclub and Larsson drags us onto the dancefloor to boogie to Euro

commercial house. Meanwhile Colm ’don’t let me stay up late and go

clubbing’ Barry props up the bar.

4.40am Leave Barry at the bar and stagger home. Now, where did I put

that jar of herring?

12pm Lunch accompanied by buckets of fizzy water. Feel well and truly

slaughtered.

1 Why creative people have lost their way

What better way to kick off Campaign's relaunch than with another think piece on the current failings of our industry, written by an embittered, pretentious creative who misses "the way things used to be"...
