- US discount retail chain, Hills Department Stores, is searching for a new creative agency to handle its estimated £12 million ($20 million) account.
Names of the agencies on the shortlist were not revealed and Hills has no incumbent agency. The company parted company with its last agency, WB Doner & Co, in June 1997 and has since handled the work in-house.
It is understood that the agency resigned the account following Hills decision to slash its ad budget to about $5 million. The agency's best known work for the store featured US sitcom comedienne, Brett Butler, in TV ads with the tagline: "Save every way. Save every day. At Hills."
